We want your short-form works!

“Rehearsed: Staged readings by local actors” will return in April 2022 after its success in 2021.

Performers will be presenting staged readings of short-form works by writers from Dubbo and surrounding areas (Gilgandra, Narromine, Wellington – I’m looking at you!). All genres and formats are welcome including:

  • Short plays
  • Short screenplays
  • Short radio plays
  • Short stories
  • Poems
  • Anything else we’ve missed!

Although there is no restriction on genre, WHP does not normally present material with excessive swearing or graphic content.

If you would like your works to be considered for the 2022 season please write to  Erifili Davis, the director/producer at

ed.quicksmart@gmail.com

We are looking for a quick turnaround so please forward by Friday, February 18, 2022, if possible. Late works “may” be concidered.

From there, we will hold auditions for actors and will decide the program by March 4, 2022.

Should we choose not to stage your work, this is no reflection of your ability or the quality of your work. We will be looking to match the writing with the performers and create a diverse and engaging program.

Should your work be selected, you will be offered 2 x complimentary tickets to the performance of your choice.
